How the PYP Stands Out in Malaysia’s Education System

Transdisciplinary Themes

The PYP curriculum at our private primary school is organized around six transdisciplinary themes, including

  • Who We Are
  • Where We Are in Place and Time
  • How We Express Ourselves
  • How the World Works
  • How We Organize Ourselves
  • Sharing the Planet

This contrasts with traditional systems that compartmentalize learning

Emphasis on Skills and Attitudes

The PYP emphasizes lifelong learning skills like critical thinking, communication, and self-management.

Fostering empathy, respect, responsibility, and promoting personal and social growth

Focus on Action and Agency

The PYP empowers students to take action through community service, environmental projects, and other impactful activities.

Fostering student agency and initiative within their communities and beyond.

Is The IB Primary Years Programme Right for Your Child?

Designed to be inclusive, the PYP adapts to diverse learners, supporting a range of abilities and backgrounds across schools.

While its inquiry-based learning approach may be challenging for those accustomed to traditional education in Malaysia, with the right support, most students thrive in this IB environment.

With a focus on the right tools and approach, our international primary school program stands out as the best choice for young learners.
